Lindsey and I are pretty psyched to be running the BlogHer 5K in New York City this year. Okay, here’s the real truth: Lindsey got dragged into this because I decided we were up for the challenge. But she’s got her sweat bands at the ready. I’m not even kidding. See?
Between Lindsey’s day-glo sweat bands and my super awesome new running shoes, you won’t be able to miss us on the sidewalk. I’m still not kidding. See?
Now, I’ve been training for this thing since January, and while I can complete a 5K without sitting down every 10 minutes, I’m still slow as can be. My pace has been improving every week, but thank goodness this is just a fun run because I shudder to think what my time will be including all the red lights we’ll have to wait for. (Thank God for the red light breaks though, eh?)
I could also claim a slow time due to injury because apparently I sprained my big toe last weekend in a very embarrassing incident which should have had personal injury lawyers knocking down my door. Again, not kidding. My toe is just starting to bruise, see? Thanks for the sympathy.
ANYway…Every time I run, my brain immediately sings Run the World (Girls). The Glee version of course, not Beyoncé. So what I really want to know is…Who Run This Mother!?
No seriously, who else is running the 5K with us? Drop us a note below so we can trip follow you.

Good luck! I ran my first 5k in May and now, I can honestly say I’m a true runner! I try to get out there about 3 times a week and I love the feeling of just running. Again, the best of luck to you!
Thanks Stéphanie! Congrats on running your first 5k. Isn’t that an awesome feeling to be a real runner? Good for you! (And thanks for the good wishes!)
I am so impressed!! You go girls! I am just starting out Cass – I’m up to fast walking! LOL. But hope to try one in April. We’ll see….
Thanks Luanne! Keep up your training…and let us know if you sign up for a 5k. We’ll cheer you on. And also, we might run right behind you. You never know.
